Even passports are creative in Norway | Neue Design Studio

The Norwegian government announced a call for redesigning the country’s passports back in 2014, won by Oslo-based Neue Design Studio. Now the finalized designs are out, showing a creative approach to the task from the angle of the UV light used during border crossing.

The peculiarity of the new documents lies in the fact that while stylized line drawings of beautiful Norwegian landscapes appear on the pages in daylight, when put under UV light in the dark, fluorescent blue and green lines appear, representing the famous northern lights.

The finalized versions of the Neue-designed travel documents have now been unveiled, including the Norwegian passport, diplomatic passport and emergency passport, each in a different color of the Norwegian flag.
