Regarded as a pillar of the Liget Budapest Project, the House of Hungarian Music is built based on the designs of Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto with an undulating roof to be punctuated with trees.
In addition to the various interactive exhibitions of the museum showcasing the diversity of Hungarian music, the nearly 9,000-square-meter space established in Budapest’s City Park will serve as a venue for hosting concerts and lectures and will also give home to offices.
“It is incredibly inspiring to work in one of the world’s first public parks, and the task of designing the building was especially exciting since we not only created an edifice but also brought the park experience into the building,”
Fujimoto said.
The structure of the House of Hungarian Music is now complete and the building is expected to open to the public in 2021.
