The name of Slovak stylist and photographer Maria Švarbová may be familiar to our regular readers: using the socialist-functionalist buildings that define her art, she reaches out to topics such as the relationship between generations or the dialogue between past and present. This time, the photographer’s iconic images reveal the theme of depth before our eyes.
Named DEEP, the series of photography approaches the feeling of loneliness and being lost in Švarbová’s specific language. True to Švarbova, the series was inspired by the purity of space, the dynamics of colors, the atmosphere of socialism and the characteristic swimming pools of the regime.
