If you want to know what inspired the designers of Apple’s iOS ui – before the big redesign – apart from the Swiss trainstation clock, you should definitely visit this online collection named Das Programm which meant to represent Deter Rams’ art from his most flourishing time. In the ’50s and ’60s through Ulm’s design school the Bauhaus philosophy appeared in industrial design and with several other designers Rams refined Braun’s products in which he spent his time as lead-designer from 1961 to 1995.

Just to return to Apple for only one sentence, well it was Rams’ TG 60 player that inspired the iPhone’s Podcast app, but you could always find similar traces in iMac G4, Mac Pro, iPod, Aluminum iMac, iPod Hi-Fi, iPhone OS 1 Calculator, and mostly in the iOS 5 Music App.

Let’s look at these beauties now.
