The newest building of Malý Chmel will be placed next to the iconic modernist building of the Bachner department store in the historic center of Ostrava, Czech Republic.
This time, the renowned architect designed a building with a concrete skeleton, almost completely covered with glass. It will function as a parking house on the middle levels, while the first and the top floors will be used as recreational spaces. The structure of the airy and light glass building operates with sloping and vertical columns, resembling a concrete forest. This might seem disorganized at first, but a thorough architectural concept lies behind it.
