A robot arm needles a tattoo into the skin of an adventuresome Dutch actress: tattoo artists are still necessary, of course, but thanks to 5G technology, they now can draw on us from a distance. Check it out!
The Dutch T-Mobile demonstrated the speed and reliability of 5G by having tattoo artist Wes Thomas control a remote tattooing machine to put a pattern on actress Stijn Fransen. Thomas drew the pattern on a prop arm, while the robot needled the same into the actress’s forearm in real time: no one had ever tried to do something like this before. The tattoo robot was created in collaboration with The Mill, and a three-minute short film was shot showing the end result.
