Tesla launches new product inspired by April Fools’ Day joke

Elon Musk’s company could conquer a whole new segment: at the same time we wouldn’t advise anyone to try their new product coming with both a luxurious price and appearance while driving, not even while driving a Tesla.

Aged for 15 months in French oak barrels, poured inside a hand-blown bottle, then available to be ordered by the consumers of selected markets for $250 plus shipping. This may sound like a riddle, but actually it’s the new Tesla Tequila, launched by Elon Musk’s company in the past days.

Due to the unique shape of the bottle, the drink comes with a custom metal stand

The drink was born out of an April Fools’ Day joke Musk made two years ago: first he announced that Tesla went bankrupt, then tweeted about him being found passed out against a Tesla Model 3, that is his own car, surrounded by Teslaquilla bottles. In the upcoming months, Musk already started the patenting process of the project dubbed Teslaquila at the time, which is now available to purchase.

The drink only available in select states in the US is stored inside a lightning-bolt-shaped bottle, which sits on a metal stand, displaying Tesla’s iconic T-shaped logo. Produced by Nosotros Tequila, the Tesla Tequila features dry fruit and light vanilla nose with a balanced cinnamon pepper finish according to its description.

The shape of a bottle alludes to the electric cars manufactured by Tesla

If you can’t wait to try it, we have bad news: it’s not even enough to be an American to do this. Those only hearing about the product’s existence now are already late, as Tesla Tequila’s entire stock has been bought up by watchful fans, and this is not a product you should expect to see on the shelves of your local store. Or, who knows – the idea of a fiery red electric car orbiting the sun with David Bowie playing from its speakers would also have sounded quite absurd a few years ago…
