Budapest Central European Fashion Week returns in an unexpected, new form

Hungarian brands will be able to present their 2020 Fall/Winter collections between September 10 and 13 in front of a small Hungarian audience in Deák Palace, in the framework of a special “trunk show” organized by the Hungarian Fashion and Design Agency. The pieces shown will be on sale at the pop-up store set up on Fashion Street.

Designers including Zsigmond Dora menswear, Nubu, Artista, Cako, Maison Marquise, Tomcsanyi, Alma Vetlényi, Romani, Sármán Nóra, Varga Viktória, Celeni, Elysian and Kati Zoób will present their latest collections at the fashion week in September.

The event will begin with introducing the fashion designers of the Young Talents Show. The young designers are given the opportunity to showcase their skills in an inspiring professional environment, followed by a 6-month long mentoring program. Just like in previous years, Budapest Central European Fashion Week awaits those interested with various side events throughout the city. These will be adjusted according to up-to-date, current official information and the organizer reserves the right to any program changes in light of the virus situation.

The Hungarian Fashion and Design Agency wishes to help designers make up for their lost revenue due to the epidemic with a popup store installed on-site. The temporary store in downtown Budapest will be open between September 10 and 20, where accessories from the designers who would have participated as exhibitors in the cancelled spring event will also be included.

Due to the situation surrounding the coronavirus epidemic, the Agency has decided to go forward with the Budapest Central European Fashion Week in October in the form of runway videos online. Those interested can view the contents of the collections on October 6 and 7, in which several other designers from the Central European region will also present their 2021 Spring/Summer collections, in addition to Hungarian brands. With this, Hungary will be one step closer to acquiring the regional dominant role of the fashion industry in the digital space.
