Dubbed GROW, this project brings the field of agriculture into the spotlight while experimenting with a sustainable and healthy crop production additive: light.
Rotterdam-based Studio Roosegaarde transformed a 20,000 sqm farmland into a surrealist light installation. In addition to being a visually impressive artwork, the goal for the red, blue and ultraviolet dreamscape is to become a daily practice in production in the future.

In his experiment, Daan Roosegaarde shows a possible way of introducing the beneficial impacts of light into agriculture: the technology does not only enhance growth, but also strengthens plants’ metabolism and offers protection against pests, thus reducing the use of pesticides by up to 50%.
