No matter how much we loved the iconic coke bottles (the glass ones, not the plastic), we must admit it was time that a company the size of Coca-Cola did something for the environment.
Coca-Cola unveiled its paper bottle prototype a few days ago, developed in collaboration with Danish startup Paboco Pioneer. The company plans to make all packaging materials recyclable by 2025, with “PlantBottle” being the first step.
30% of the bottle is made of raw, plant-based materials, and it is 100% recyclable. But how will they keep the coke from soaking the paper, you may ask: the company will continue to use plastic for the inside of the bottle – recycled and recyclable, of course.
