The next location in our series presenting Poland’s natural heritage is also the country’s largest national park.
The Biebrzański National Park covers more than 59,000 hectares along the Biebrza River and covers a number of wetlands, which enjoy special protection even within the park. The huge park boasts a rich and diverse flora and fauna, including one of the largest moose populations in Europe and many rare bird species.
The park is ideal for both casual and more challenging hikers: many hiking trails, bike paths and kayak trails cross the fabulous landscape for hundreds of kilometers.
