With more and more global companies trying to live up to their commitments regarding creating a sustainable future, IKEA also had to take action: they released their first store selling used furniture.
The store will be opened in ReTuna shopping center in Eskilstuna, Sweden, offering second-hand goods only, but hopefully the model will be a success and will be soon available globally. Customers will be able to purchase the pieces damaged during shipping as well as used items, donated by previous owners. Those donating and purchasing the furniture will both contribute to a more sustainable way of living.
