BIG and ICON announced their collaboration with the team of SEArch+ for Project Olympus, to design a 3D printed infrastructure promoting the establishment of livable circumstances on the Moon.
In the course of the project, Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) and ICON, a specialist of 3D printed buildings will also collaborate with NASA, with the common goal of paving the way for future lunar expeditions.
So that they can find a sustainable 3D printing method, they work with materials that simulate the characteristics of lunar materials the most.
ICON created the first 3D printed house in the United States in 2018, and they expect their latest project to offer new perspectives for more sustainable construction on our planet, as well.
