Alauda has launched the world’s first electric racing vehicle, the Airspeeder mk3. The vehicle will be racing with a remote pilot.
More than ten electric, flying race cars could be built for the 2021 championship organized by Airspeeder, where all vehicles will be remotely piloted. At the 2022 race, however, they would like to launch the fourth generation of the car, the Airspeeder mk4, with pilots.
The vehicles, resembling giant drones, are manufactured in Adelaide, Australia, and the creative team includes people who were previously working for McLaren, Babcock Aviation, Boeing, Jaguar Land Rover, Rolls-Royce, and Brabham. The organizers are working with the hope that their technological achievements will bring about a momentous development in aviation, and a new era of urban public transport and cargo vehicles.
