Polish family house built based on LEGO principles

Sometimes the ideas for a problem come from the most unexpected places: in the case of this house in Poznań, the architects reached back to the childhood experience of playing with LEGO blocks to exploit the potentials of the hilly location.

Do you remember the houses built of LEGO blocks which you could divide into levels with slabs? The solution can also be put to use in real life: Polish architect firm mode:lina™ also followed this structure when designing The Slab House.

The slabs dividing the 3-story house into floors even added to the functions: the bottom one helped create covered outdoor spaces, while the architects created separate cubicles on the top slab, just like we would have done out of the blocks, as kids.
